A DIY hot knife cutter for cutting acrylic and plastic.
This is a very easy to make piece of equipment that is especially useful when cutting corner molding or small pieces of acrylic.
If you are making display cases for your diorama’s, train layout modules, or for your rolling stock, this hot knife comes in very handy when cutting and fitting the corner molding.
It consists of a piece of a box cutter blade inserted into a soldering iron. You can make the insertion without adding an adapter, but it is recommended that you take the extra time to make an adapter because you will get much better heat transfer.
